1. General Return Policy & Fees 

Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery. To qualify, items must be in their original, unopened packaging, never installed, and in brand-new condition.

  • Restocking Fee: All returns for non-defective items (e.g., "too big," "not bright enough," "changed my mind") are subject to a 20% restocking fee. This covers technical inspection and specialized repackaging required for fragile lighting.

  • Non-Refundable Shipping: Original shipping costs are non-refundable. The cost of return shipping is the responsibility of the customer.

2. Damage & Fragility (Strict 48-Hour Reporting)

Lighting fixtures contain fragile components (glass, crystals, delicate metals).

  • Inspection Window: You must inspect your order and report any transit damage within 48 hours of delivery.

  • Mandatory Proof: Claims filed after 48 hours or claims without clear photos of both the damaged product and the external shipping box will be denied. This is required for us to file a claim with the carrier.

  • Resolution: We reserve the right to send replacement glass, parts, or a full fixture. A full refund is only offered if a replacement is unavailable.

3. Technical Specifications & "Not as Described" Defense

By purchasing, you acknowledge the following technical standards, which are not grounds for a "defective" or "not as described" chargeback:

  • Color Temperature: Lighting appearance (Warm vs. Cool) varies based on the bulbs used and the ambient colors of your room. Variations in perceived light color are not defects.

  • Handcrafted Variations: Many fixtures feature hand-blown glass or hand-finished metals. Small bubbles in glass, slight color gradients, or texture variations are signs of authenticity and are not defects.

  • Brightness/Lumens: Perceived brightness is subjective. We provide technical specs where possible; dissatisfaction with light output is a "Preference Return" subject to the 20% restocking fee.

4. Final Sale & High-Value Items

The following are Final Sale and strictly non-returnable:

  • Custom-made, bespoke, or modified lighting fixtures.

  • Any item that has been installed or wired. For safety reasons, once a fixture is installed, it cannot be resold.

  • Large-scale fixtures or chandeliers valued over USD $2,000.

  • Light bulbs and clearance items.

5. Compulsory Dispute Resolution

Before initiating a chargeback with your bank, you agree to contact Malane Lighting Support at info@malanelighting.com.

  • Evidence Submission: If a chargeback is filed for "Item Not as Described" without prior communication or evidence of a defect, we will submit this policy and your checkout agreement as evidence of a policy violation.

  • Signature Requirement: For security, all orders over $1,000 require a signature upon delivery. If a "Signature Required" delivery is confirmed, "Item Not Received" claims will be contested with full legal documentation.

6. Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA)

Returns sent without an official RMA number from our support team will be rejected. Packages refused at delivery by the customer will be treated as a standard return and subject to both the 20% restocking fee and two-way shipping costs.
