Perla — an open shell of mouth-blown blue glass, with a pearl of light at its heart. Two half-moons of glass part around a single opal globe, like a clam caught just as it opens. It is a wall light that reads as a small sculpture: playful in shape, serious in craft.
The shells are blown by hand, so their surface carries a soft, mottled texture and depth of colour that flat painted metal cannot imitate — a dusky slate blue that shifts toward grey or teal as the light in the room changes. The milky globe glows warm and even, washing light across the inside of the shells and out onto the wall.
Why it is worth the wall
-
Mouth-blown glass. Each shell is formed by hand, so tone and texture vary slightly from piece to piece. No two Perla sconces are quite alike.
-
A colour that does the decorating. The muted blue works as an accent in a neutral room, and sits beautifully with warm woods, linen, brass and white plaster.
-
Soft, flattering light. The opal globe diffuses the light, so there is no glare and no bare bulb in view — just a warm glow framed by the glass.
-
Full-spectrum LED, warm by default. High colour-accuracy light that keeps skin tones, fabrics and art looking natural. Included and ready to install.
-
Brass hardware holding the shells and globe in place.
Where it belongs
Hang a pair either side of a bed in place of table lamps, use one as a quiet focal point in a living room, or run several along a hallway, where the shell shape reads as a repeating pattern. At 5.9" from the wall it sits comfortably in passageways and beside a headboard.

A note on hand-blown glass: because every shell is blown by hand, colour, texture and small surface variations will differ slightly from piece to piece and from the photographs. These are marks of the process, not defects.
Frequently asked questions
Is the glass really hand-blown?
Yes. Each shell is mouth-blown, which is what gives it its depth of colour and gently mottled surface.
What does full-spectrum light mean?
Full-spectrum LEDs reproduce colours more faithfully than ordinary LEDs, so wood, fabric, skin and artwork look as they do in daylight. Perla ships set to a warm white, suited to bedrooms and living spaces.
Do I need to buy bulbs?
No. The LED is integrated and included.
How high should I mount it?
Beside a bed, place the center about 50–60 inches from the floor. In a hallway or living room, about 60–66 inches, spacing a run of sconces 6–8 feet apart.
Can I use it in a bathroom?
It is designed for dry indoor locations such as bedrooms, living rooms and hallways, and is not intended for areas exposed to splashing water.
How do I clean it?
With the light switched off and cool, wipe the glass with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry it. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
