A disc of glass that throws water across your wall. The Press wall light is formed from a single piece of machine-pressed glass, rippled in concentric rings around a mirrored chrome core. Switch it on and those rings project outward — wide, soft circles of light spreading across the wall like the surface of water just after something has touched it.
That effect is the entire reason this fixture exists. The light itself is only 8 watts; what fills the room is the pattern the glass makes with it. Off, the piece reads as a thick lens of clear glass with a bright silver eye at the centre. On, the wall becomes the shade.
Pressed, not cut
-
One-piece press-formed glass. The ripples are pressed into a single body of glass in one operation, not cut, etched, or assembled from rings. The result has depth and optical distortion that surface-etched glass cannot reproduce.
-
Mirrored chrome core. A polished silver centre that reflects the room back at you and acts as the visual anchor of the disc.
-
Carbon steel and aluminium body. A rigid backplate and housing, not a thin stamped shell.
-
Sits close to the wall. Just 3 inches (7.5 cm) of projection, so it works in a hallway or beside a bed without anything to catch.
-
8 W LED. Low draw, no bulb to buy, and cool enough to sit inside pressed glass.
Three models
-
Standard — Ø 8.4" (21.3 cm). The core size. Living room, bedroom, hallway.
-
Touch — Ø 8.4" (21.3 cm). Identical, with a touch switch built into the chrome centre — press the fixture itself to turn it on and off. Made for bedsides and hallways, where reaching a wall switch is the whole problem.
-
Large — Ø 13.6" (34.5 cm). The same form at statement scale, with a correspondingly wider ripple projection. Living rooms, entryways, and long corridors.

Where to put it
The ripple projection needs wall around the fixture to land on, so this is a light for a flat expanse rather than a tight corner. It is at its best in a hallway, where a run of two or three turns a blank corridor into a rhythm of overlapping circles; beside a bed, where the Touch model replaces a table lamp and frees the nightstand; in a living room flanking a sofa or artwork; and in an entryway, where the Large version alone is enough. Mount at roughly 60 inches from the floor for general wall lighting, or 48 to 52 inches beside a bed. In a hallway, space them 5 to 7 feet apart so the ripple circles just meet rather than overlap.
Frequently asked questions
What sizes does the Press wall light come in?
Two diameters: 8.4 inches (21.3 cm) and 13.6 inches (34.5 cm). Both project 3 inches (7.5 cm) from the wall. The 8.4-inch size is also available in a touch-controlled version.
What is the ripple effect, and is it visible in a lit room?
The concentric rings pressed into the glass project outward as wide circles of light on the surrounding wall. The effect is strongest on a plain, pale wall in a dim or evening room. In bright daylight, or against dark or heavily textured walls, it is far more subtle — this is an evening fixture.
How does the touch version work?
The chrome centre of the fixture is the switch. Touch it to turn the light on or off, with no wall switch needed. It is the model to choose for a bedside or a hallway where the switch is not within reach.
Does it need a bulb?
No. The 8 W LED is integrated, so there is no bulb to buy or install.
How bright is 8 W?
This is an accent and atmosphere fixture, not a room's main light. It lights the wall around it beautifully and gives a soft warm glow to a hallway or bedside, but it will not light a whole living room on its own. Plan it alongside other lighting.
Is it dimmable?
Contact us before ordering if you intend to put it on a dimmer, so we can confirm compatibility for your model and installation — wiring an incompatible LED fixture to a dimmer can cause flicker or buzz. The touch model switches on and off at the fixture.
What is it made of?
Carbon steel and aluminium for the body and backplate, with a one-piece machine-pressed glass lens and a polished chrome mirror core.
Is the glass cut or etched?
Neither. It is press-formed — the ripples are shaped into a single body of glass during forming, which gives the piece its thickness and optical depth. Etched or cut glass produces a flatter, drier pattern.
How far does it stick out from the wall?
3 inches / 7.5 cm, on both sizes. It sits close enough to suit a narrow hallway or a tight bedside without protruding into the space.
How do I clean it?
Wipe the glass with a soft cloth and a little glass cleaner, working into the ripples where dust settles. Use a dry cloth on the chrome centre and dry it immediately — standing water spots polished metal.
Can it be used in a bathroom or outdoors?
No. It is rated for indoor use only.
