You can use a wall switch, on-off, which will change the color of the LED light, the three-color changer is not compatible with dimmers.

Light emitted is soft. It lends the room a zen-like feel. Easy to assemble. I can't assess if it is long lasting but parts are metal and glass.

Ordered two and they look super cute above my kitchen island. Great MCM vibe. Bit lightweight, and was a tad confusing to install for a DIYer as the instructions were pretty bad - but I eventually figured it out via GoogleYoutube. Still recommend!
