Intreccio Chandelier

Intreccio — an interlace of glass links, hooked one into the next. Every piece is a short S-shaped bar of water-ripple glass that hooks over its neighbours above and below, so the tiers are not hung from a frame so much as woven into one another. Follow any single link with your eye and you can trace the chain around the whole circumference.

The links alternate in colour — warm amber, pale blush, and clear — and every one carries a rippled, molten surface texture rather than a smooth face. Lit from within, the amber pieces glow gold, the clear ones catch and scatter, and the ripple breaks the light into hundreds of small moving points across the whole fixture. The effect is closer to a body of water than to cut crystal.

What sets it apart

• Interlocking construction. The glass links hook into each other rather than hanging as separate drops. That is what gives the tiers their density and their woven, continuous surface.
• Water-ripple texture. The surface is formed into the glass, so each link has real optical depth and scatters light in points. Smooth glass reflects flatly; this does not.
• Three tones in one fixture. Amber, blush, and clear links mixed through the tiers, which is why it reads as warm and layered rather than as a single block of colour.
• Gold frame. Visible at the crown and through the gaps in the weave, tying the amber tones together.
• Three true sizes. Not one fixture scaled up and down — the socket count rises with the diameter, so the larger versions are correspondingly brighter.

• Ø 19.7" x H 17.7" (50 x 45 cm) — 9 sockets. The compact version, for a breakfast table, an entry, or a bedroom. 
• Ø 23.6" x H 24.8" (60 x 63 cm) — 16 sockets. The everyday dining size, and a noticeably deeper profile. 
• Ø 31.5" x H 31.5" (80 x 80 cm) — 17 sockets. A principal fixture for a large dining room, a foyer, or a stairwell.

Choosing a size

Over a dining table, the 23.6" suits tables of roughly 54 to 72 inches and the 31.5" suits 72 inches and up, with the lowest glass 30 to 34 inches above the tabletop. The 19.7" is a supporting fixture — a breakfast table, a bedroom, a modest entry — or it can be run as a pair in a longer room. Note that height climbs with diameter: the largest is 31.5 inches deep before the chain, so on a standard eight-foot ceiling it belongs over a table rather than anywhere people walk beneath it.

The standard chain is 12 inches, which hangs all three close to the ceiling. Contact us with your ceiling height and desired drop before ordering and we will supply the chain to suit. All three are hardwired to a ceiling box and switched from the wall; there is no plug and no inline switch.

How many bulbs does each size take?

Nine for the 19.7", sixteen for the 23.6", and seventeen for the 31.5". Bulbs are not included, so budget for them separately — and buy the full set at once from the same batch, because mismatched colour temperature is obvious across a fixture this dense.

What bulbs does it take?

E12 or E14 small screw base, LED or Edison filament. E12 is the candelabra base widely stocked in the United States; E14 is its European equivalent, and this fixture accepts either. Choose 2700K warm white — cool white fights the amber glass and makes it look muddy.

Is the ripple texture etched onto the glass?

No. It is formed into the glass, which is why each link has visible depth and scatters light into points rather than reflecting it as a flat sheet.

Why are there three different colours of glass?

The links alternate between amber, blush, and clear through the tiers. Mixing them is what gives the fixture its warmth and layering — a single colour at this density would read as a solid block.

What does IP20 mean?

IP20 means the fixture is protected against contact with objects larger than 12 mm but has no water protection at all. It is an indoor dry-location rating — suitable for dining rooms, entries, and living rooms, but not for bathrooms with shower exposure, covered patios, or any outdoor location.

Is it dimmable?

It runs on a standard wall switch and has no built-in dimming, so it depends on the bulbs. Dimmable LED or filament bulbs on a compatible wall dimmer will dim, and with 16 or 17 sockets behind amber glass it is well worth doing.

Is it hardwired?

Yes. All three sizes wire directly to a ceiling junction box and are operated from an external wall switch. There is no plug and no inline cord switch, so installation should be carried out by an electrician.

How long is the chain?

30 cm / 12 inches as standard, which hangs the fixture close to the ceiling. The length is variable on request — contact us with your ceiling height and the drop you want before ordering.

What does it need to hang from?

A ceiling box rated for a chandelier of the relevant size, fixed to structural framing or a proper brace. These are dense glass fixtures and the two larger sizes in particular are heavy — have an electrician confirm the mounting before installation.

How do I clean it?

Dust with a soft dry brush, working into the ripple texture and between the links where dust settles. Do not spray cleaner onto the fixture; dampen a cloth instead if more than dusting is needed.

Will it work outside the United States?

Yes. It accepts AC 110-240 V and carries certification compatible with North America, Europe, and Saudi Arabia, so it runs on either a 120 V or a 220-240 V supply.
