One continuous ribbon, wound into a dome. Le Soleil is not built from separate rings. A single band of metal coils upward from the widest point at the base to the smallest at the crown, each turn overlapping the one below it and leaving an open slot between them. The form is a spiral, and you can trace it with your eye from bottom to top without ever finding a join.
Every one of those slots is where the light gets out. The fixture emits nothing directly downward — light escapes sideways through the gaps between coils and washes back over the outside of the shade, so the whole surface glows in horizontal bands and the room receives soft, indirect light from a fixture you can look straight at.
What makes it worth the money
-
A spiral, not a stack. The continuous coil is difficult to form and is the entire design. Layered lookalikes made from separate rings never produce the same unbroken line.
-
Indirect light, in bands. Nothing points at your eyes. The slots throw light outward and upward, so the shade itself becomes the light source.
-
Weightless at scale. Nearly 19 inches across, suspended on fine cables, with no visible canopy bulk. It fills space without adding mass.
-
Sculpture unlit. In daylight the coil reads as pure white form and shadow. It does not go blank when switched off.
Two finishes
White is the pure architectural read — against a white ceiling the fixture becomes shadow and edge, and the light is a clean warm white. Blue makes it an object rather than a surface: it holds its color in daylight and reads as a deliberate accent in an otherwise neutral room.

Where to hang it
Because the light travels sideways rather than straight down, Le Soleil is an ambient fixture rather than a task light. It belongs over a dining table, in a living room, in a stairwell where it is seen from several levels, or above a bed — anywhere you want the room lit rather than a surface lit. Over a dining table it suits tables from about 48 inches wide, hung with the bottom edge 30 to 34 inches above the tabletop. If you need bright light directly on a work surface, pair it with downlights rather than relying on it alone.
Frequently asked questions
How big is the Le Soleil pendant?
18.8 inches wide and 12.5 inches high (48 x 32 cm), not counting the suspension.
How much does it cost?
$1,125 USD, the same in White and in Blue.
What finishes are available?
Two: White and Blue.
What bulb does it take?
One standard E26 (North America) or E27 (Europe) screw-base bulb, not included. LED and Edison bulbs both work. Choose 2700K to 3000K warm white — because the shade itself glows, a cool white bulb makes the whole fixture look grey.
Does it light downward onto a table?
Not directly. Light escapes through the horizontal slots between the coils, so it spreads sideways and upward and the shade glows. It gives excellent ambient light and atmosphere, but it is not a task light — over a kitchen work surface, add downlights.
Is it dimmable?
The fixture runs on a common wall switch and has no built-in dimming, so it depends on the bulb. A dimmable LED or Edison bulb on a compatible wall dimmer will dim.
What does IP20 mean?
IP20 means the fixture is protected against contact with objects larger than 12 mm but has no water protection at all. It is an indoor-only rating — fine for dining rooms, bedrooms, and living rooms, but not for bathrooms with shower exposure or any outdoor location.
How long is the suspension?
150 cm / 59 inches, which suits standard 8 to 10 foot ceilings and can be shortened at installation. Longer suspension is available on request for vaulted or double-height ceilings — contact us before ordering.
How do I clean it?
Dust the outer surface and the open slots with a soft dry brush or a vacuum brush attachment. Wipe with a barely damp cloth if needed, and avoid abrasive cleaners on the painted finish.
Will it work outside the United States?
Yes. It accepts AC 110-240 V and carries certification compatible with North America, Europe, Saudi Arabia, and Australia. Use an E26 bulb on 110-120 V supply and an E27 bulb on 220-240 V.
