Onda — glass cut into waves and stacked two tiers deep. Each piece is a short ribbon of textured glass with a scalloped, rippling edge, hooked over its neighbours so the whole shade interlocks into a continuous band. The upper tier sits narrower, the lower tier flares wider, and both ripple around the circumference like water seen edge-on.
The glass is hammered and irregular across every face, not smooth. Lit from within by a single bulb, the texture breaks the light into countless small facets, and because the pieces overlap, each ribbon is lit partly directly and partly through the one behind it. The result is depth — a shade that looks layered rather than flat, from a fixture only 13 inches across.
Five colourways, five different rooms
-
Clear & Gold. The brightest and most formal. Brass hardware reads warm through colourless glass.
-
Amber. Deep honey glass that casts genuinely golden light. The warmest of the five and the most unmistakably mid-century.
-
Green. A saturated bottle green — the boldest choice, and the one that makes a neutral kitchen look deliberate.
-
Smoke gray. Cool and architectural; recedes in a room that already has a strong palette.
-
Black. The most graphic. Reads as a dark sculptural mass unlit, and glows only at its edges when lit.

Where to hang it
At 13 inches across this is a mid-scale pendant that works alone or in a row. Hang one over a round breakfast table, a console, or in an entry; two or three over a kitchen island spaced 24 to 30 inches apart; or a single one over a bedside. Keep the base of the shade 30 to 36 inches above a counter and 30 to 34 inches above a tabletop.
The chain is 11.8 inches as supplied, which hangs it close to the ceiling — over an island or a table you will want more. Contact us with your ceiling height and the drop you want before ordering and we will adjust it.
One practical note on colour: Amber, Green, and Black all tint the light passing through them. Over a kitchen work surface where you want neutral white light, choose Clear & Gold or Smoke gray, or pair a coloured one with downlights.
Frequently asked questions
How big is the Onda and what does it cost?
13 inches in diameter and 10.6 inches tall (33 x 27 cm), not counting the chain. $420 USD in every colourway.
What colours are available?
Five: Clear & Gold, Smoke gray, Black, Green, and Amber. All five are the same size and price.
Is the colour painted onto the glass?
No. The colour runs through the glass itself, so it cannot fade, chip, or wear off, and it tints the light passing through rather than just the surface you see.
How many bulbs does it take?
One. It is not included. The base is E14 or E12 — both fit. E12 is the candelabra base widely stocked in the United States; E14 is its European equivalent. Choose 2700K warm white; cool white fights the amber and green glass and makes clear glass look clinical.
Is the texture etched onto the glass?
No. The hammered, irregular surface is formed into the glass, which is why each ribbon has real depth and breaks light into facets rather than reflecting it flatly.
Which colour gives the most light?
Clear & Gold, followed by Smoke gray. Amber and Green tint the light noticeably warm or cool-green, and Black gives the least direct light of the five — it glows mainly at the edges and is best chosen for effect rather than brightness.
Is it dimmable?
It runs on a common wall switch and has no built-in dimming, so it depends on the bulb. A dimmable LED or filament bulb on a compatible wall dimmer will dim.
Can I hang several in a row?
Yes. Over an island, space them 24 to 30 inches apart on centre. Each needs its own ceiling outlet unless they are mounted from a shared linear canopy.
How long is the chain?
30 cm / 11.8 inches as supplied, and adjustable on request. Contact us with your ceiling height and desired drop before ordering.
How do I clean it?
Dust with a soft dry brush, working into the hammered texture and between the overlapping ribbons where dust settles. Do not spray cleaner onto the fixture; dampen a cloth instead if more than dusting is needed.
Will it work outside the United States?
Yes. It accepts AC 110-240 V, so it runs on either a 120 V or a 220-240 V supply.
Can it be used in a bathroom or outdoors?
No. It is rated for indoor use only.
