Light up and light down, from a single shade. The hourglass form flares open at the top and again at the bottom, cinched at the waist by a slim black metal band. The upper cone washes the ceiling; the lower cone drops usable light onto the table. One fixture doing the work of ambient and task lighting at once.
The shade is pleated white linen — hand-gathered into fine vertical folds that catch light along every ridge. Lit, the pleats read as a soft radiating pattern rather than a flat glowing surface. It is the detail that separates this from an ordinary drum shade, and it is why the fixture looks expensive from across a room.
The details that matter
-
Pleated linen, not printed fabric. Real gathered folds, so the texture is structural and changes with the angle you view it from.
-
Black metal waist band. A single hard line through a soft form — the contrast that keeps the fixture from reading as purely traditional.
-
Bidirectional light. Open at top and bottom, so the room gets both a ceiling wash and a downward pool of light.
-
Tall proportions. At 18.9" to 28.3" high, this is a fixture with vertical presence — it fills the space over a table rather than hovering thinly above it.
Three sizes
-
Ø 15.7" x H 18.9" (Dia 40 x H 48 cm) — bedside, entry, or a pair over a kitchen island.
-
Ø 19.7" x H 23.6" (Dia 50 x H 60 cm) — the everyday size, over a four to six seat table.
-
Ø 23.6" x H 28.3" (Dia 60 x H 72 cm) — a statement fixture for a full dining table, a stairwell, or a double-height room.

Choosing a size
Because this shade is tall as well as wide, account for both. Over a dining table, a single pendant should be roughly one third to one half the table's width: a 48-inch round table takes the 19.7", a 72-inch rectangular table takes the 23.6". Hang the bottom edge 30 to 34 inches above the tabletop. On a standard eight-foot ceiling the largest size will occupy real vertical space — that is the intended effect over a dining table, but measure before choosing it for a hallway or a low-ceilinged room.
Frequently asked questions
What sizes and prices are available?
Three sizes. Ø 15.7" x H 18.9" is $580, Ø 19.7" x H 23.6" is $890, and Ø 23.6" x H 28.3" is $1,200.
What is the shade made of?
White fabric linen, pleated into fine vertical folds, on a metal frame. The waist band and the cord and canopy hardware are black.
What colors does it come in?
One colorway: Black & White. The linen shade is white and the metal band and hardware are black.
What bulb does it take?
A standard E26 (North America) or E27 (Europe) screw-base bulb, not included. LED and Edison filament bulbs both work. Choose 2700K to 3000K warm white — cool white makes white linen look grey and clinical.
Does it light upward as well as downward?
Yes. The shade is open at both the top and the bottom, so it throws light up onto the ceiling and down onto the surface below. This is why it works as the only fixture in a room rather than needing supplementary lighting.
Is it dimmable?
The fixture runs on a common wall switch and contains no dimming hardware, so it depends on the bulb. A dimmable LED or Edison bulb on a compatible wall dimmer will dim.
How long is the cord?
150 cm / 59 inches, which suits standard 8 to 10 foot ceilings and can be shortened at installation. Longer cord is available on request for vaulted or double-height ceilings — contact us before ordering.
How do I clean a pleated linen shade?
Dust the pleats with a soft brush or a vacuum brush attachment, working downward along the folds. Do not use water, solvents, or cleaning sprays on linen.
Can it be used in a bathroom or outdoors?
No. It is rated for indoor use only. Linen absorbs moisture and will stain and sag in damp conditions, so keep it out of bathrooms and covered outdoor spaces.
Will it work outside the United States?
Yes. It accepts AC 110-240 V and carries certification compatible with North America, Europe, Saudi Arabia, and Australia. Use an E26 bulb on 110-120 V supply and an E27 bulb on 220-240 V.
