A fringe made of glass, not fabric. Under a matte black metal cap sits a cylinder of opal glass, and around its lower edge runs a skirt of short clear glass rods — the tassel the fixture is named for. Fabric fringe absorbs light. These do the opposite: each rod catches the glow from the shade above and carries it to a bright point at its tip.
The result is a line of small lights around the base of the fixture, sitting below a soft, evenly lit opal cylinder. It reads as jewelry from a distance and as precise glasswork up close — a deco gesture executed with modern restraint rather than ornament for its own sake.
What you are paying for
-
The glass rod fringe. Individually set clear rods, each one lit at the tip. This is the detail that separates the fixture from a plain opal cylinder, and it is the part that is difficult to make well.
-
Twin-rod suspension. Two rigid stems rather than a cord, so the fixture hangs perfectly still and perfectly plumb. No swing, no twist, no sag.
-
A serious drop. 72 inches overall — six feet from ceiling to base — built for stairwells, entries, and double-height rooms where a standard pendant would disappear near the ceiling.
-
Integrated 10 W LED. No bulb to buy, no socket visible, and low enough power draw to leave on all evening.

Hanging it
The overall height is 72 inches, which is the defining fact about this fixture. On a standard eight-foot ceiling it will hang to roughly head height, so it is not a general-purpose room pendant — it is designed for a stairwell, a double-height entry, a vaulted living room, or above a dining table where a long drop is wanted. The rod can be shortened at installation, and longer rod is available on request. Over a dining table, keep the bottom of the fringe 30 to 34 inches above the tabletop and measure your ceiling height before ordering.
Frequently asked questions
How big is the Tassel 19 pendant, and how much does it cost?
The shade measures 9.4 x 11.8 inches and the fixture is 72 inches tall overall including the suspension rod (24 x 30 x 183 cm). It is $720 USD.
Is the fringe made of glass or fabric?
Glass. The skirt is made of short clear glass rods set around the lower edge of the opal shade. Because glass transmits light rather than absorbing it, each rod lights up at its tip — something a fabric fringe cannot do.
Does it need a bulb?
No. The LED is integrated into the fixture, rated at 10 W. There is no bulb to buy, install, or replace.
Can the LED be replaced later?
The LED is integrated rather than user-replaceable, which is what allows the fixture to be built without a visible socket. LED modules of this type are rated for many years of normal household use. Contact us about service if a unit ever fails.
Is it dimmable?
It is designed to run on a common wall switch. If you intend to put it on a dimmer, contact us before ordering so we can confirm compatibility for your installation — wiring an incompatible LED fixture to a dimmer can cause flicker or buzz.
How long is the suspension, and can it be shortened?
The rod is 150 cm / 59 inches as supplied, giving 72 inches of total height. It can be shortened at installation, and longer rod is available on request for double-height rooms — contact us before ordering with your ceiling height.
Will it fit a standard eight-foot ceiling?
Only if the rod is shortened. At its full 72-inch height the base would sit around head height in an eight-foot room. It is built for stairwells, entries, and vaulted spaces — measure first, and tell us your ceiling height so we can supply the right rod length.
Does it swing or spin?
No. It hangs from two rigid metal rods rather than a cord, so it stays plumb and still. This also means it cannot be repositioned after installation the way a cord-hung pendant can.
What finishes are available?
One: black metal with an opal glass shade and clear glass fringe.
How do I clean it?
Dust the glass rods with a soft dry brush, working between them, and wipe the opal shade with a barely damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners on the black metal.
Can it be used in a bathroom or outdoors?
No. It is rated for indoor use only and is not damp- or wet-rated.
Will it work outside the United States?
Yes. It accepts AC 110-240 V and carries certification compatible with North America, Europe, Saudi Arabia, and Australia, so it can run on either a 120 V or a 230 V supply.
